My name is Laura Childs. I own 123webs. If you want to get into the nitty-gritty about who I am and what I stand for, run a search on google for Laura Childs +business (1.4 million references in google) or Smartzville. Smartzville was created to assist entrepreneurs starting an online business - not websites that represent an actual business.

There are references to my work and training on multiple websites. I created some of the first websites back in 1995 for large corporations (S.A. Armstrong), internationally acclaimed authors (Debra M. Amidon, Karl Erik Sveiby), online learning facilities (Know, Inc.) and consulted on nearly 1,000 lesser known but relevant to small business sites, over the last 10 years.

Design, Publishing, and Marketing Training

I have taught website design and publishing software (in classroom settings and through online tutorials), and I write regularly on internet marketing, search engine optimization and traffic generation. I'll soon add some of my client and reader testimonials here (I recently shut down one of my web properties and haven't republished the testimonials yet.)

I have an understanding of programming (low-level geek stuff) but I'm more interested in staying out of the geek chats and in to helping small to medium sized business get their website and promotions off the ground - correctly.

The team I'm working with have also been in the website building business for over a decade. They've created a browser-based application that is very easy to learn and use - for search engine optimization, page editing, photo optimization, e-commerce, contact management and more.

I love the application's ease of use. It takes the business owner out of the software, while diminishing the need for a webmaster, and therefore the necessity of costly updates.

The other side of my team - people who you're likely to meet or have met, have also spent weeks in training, months talking about what works for online business and what, certainly, does not. We're in Ontario, Canada. We're also in California. No matter where you live, we can assist and support you.
